LTC relaxation to Jammu and Kashmir also extended by 2 years
The
government has issued an office memorandum, extending the relaxation
for LTC travel to visit J & K under CCS (LTC) Rules. This will
allow all central government employees to travel to Jammu &
Kashmir by air irrespective of their eligibility, using either Air
India or private airlines. But, they can travel only in 'Economy
Class', irrespective of their entitlement.
The
move expected as the government had extended the similar facility for
central government employees to visit north-eastern states. This move
will give a much needed boost to the tourism in J&K. The tourism
in Kashmir has a huge potential and is under favorable condition owing
to the continuing peace in the Valley. The 2011, which a very
peaceful one, saw a record number of 1.3 million tourists and around 2
million is expected this year.About 80% of the tourists visits the
state by Air.
